🎨 Art Club Takes on Pittsburgh! 🖼️✨

Art Club members in grades 7–12 spent an unforgettable day in Pittsburgh exploring the city’s vibrant art and culture scene! From the immersive exhibits at the Mattress Factory to the bright colors of Randyland, the sights and inspiration were endless. Students also visited the Strip District, the Frick, and Radiant Hall Studios, experiencing art in various forms.

Our sixth graders had an exciting day of exploration last week! 🌟
They visited the YSU Planetarium and the Clarence R. Smith Mineral Museum, diving into space science and geology through hands-on learning and unforgettable experiences. 🚀🪨

🎶 McDonald Music Spotlight! 🎶

We’re proud to celebrate some of our talented Blue Devil musicians!

On November 11, Catalina took the stage at Stambaugh Auditorium, performing with the extracurricular Stambaugh Youth Concert Band—an incredible opportunity and an outstanding performance!

This past weekend, Sam David and Zane represented McDonald in the OMEA District 5 Honors Band. After two days of rehearsals on Friday and Saturday, they wrapped up the experience with a fantastic concert on Saturday, November 22.

👏 Congratulations to all three students on their dedication, hard work, and musical achievements! Keep shining, Blue Devils! 💙🎵

Roosevelt 3rd Graders Stepped Back in Time!
Yesterday, our 3rd graders enjoyed a special Throwback Day! The Mahoning Valley Historical Society joined us to present an Old-Fashioned School Day, offering students a hands-on glimpse into what classrooms were like in the past.

Our students had a blast learning, exploring, and experiencing history in a whole new way! 📚✨

On November 11, Ms. Rozzo's Government classes, in conjunction with Mrs. Stonestreet and Student Council, put together a breakfast to celebrate and appreciate those who had served in the military or are currently serving. The junior classes signed paper feathers with words of thanks and gratitude that art instructor Mrs. Mills used to form an eagle. There was a nice turnout of several veterans and their families to enjoy the catered Panera breakfast. During the meal, a saxophone trio led by sophomore David Suverison played "America the Beautiful". As the event closed, each veteran, including our superintendent, Mr. Carkido, signed a poster board that will be hung in the study hall.

🏈💗 Powderpuff 2025! 💗🏈 What a night under the lights! Despite the chilly weather, our Powderpuff game brought nothing but energy, excitement, and incredible sportsmanship. ✨ Congratulations to our Seniors on taking home the win! ✨ Shoutout to our Juniors for their heart, grit, and competitive spirit — they left it all on the field! ✨ And huge appreciation to our football players who stepped up as coaches. Your leadership and enthusiasm made the night even better. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, play, and make this tradition such a fun community moment.
